- Pedestrian visibility splay: 4 m wide by 2 m deep at the boundary, nothing higher than 0.6 m.
- Drive no steeper than 1 in 10.
- On roads over 40 mph you need room to turn within your property.

- Letchworth: written consent from Letchworth Heritage Foundation first. Welwyn Garden City: consent from the Estate Management Scheme first.
- Broxbourne borough handles its own dropped kerbs.
- You can't apply if you're on a private road.
